PALPABLE HIT is a new theatre company dedicated to bringing the classical works of Shakespeare and his contemporaries to life.
This company, created as a collective for young actors interested in classical plays, is dedicated to examining the textual
histories of their texts throughout the rehearsal process to find modern-day relevancies for their productions.
Drawing from their experiences in outdoor theatre at the collegiate level (with many actors affiliated with the King's
Crown Shakespeare Troupe of Columbia University), the group hopes to bring their love of
Shakespeare and other classical works to a broader audience in New York City.
Director Elissa Goetschius....
holds a BA in English from Columbia
University and studied directing under Mark Wing-Davey (director of
Shakespeare in the Park's HENRY V) at the British American Drama
Academy. Having interned at the Royal Shakespeare Company in London
and New York's Manhattan Theatre Club, she will be starting a position
at D.C.'s Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in August. Previous
directing credits include THE SKRIKER by Caryl Churchill and LIKE
SNOWFALL ON ZALMON by Spencer Greenberg.
